Spring 2024

Perfect Purple Reward

As a good behaviour incentive, children throughout school were awarded Perfect Purple time for receiving no warnings or detentions during Spring Term. Children who received this award were allowed to choose a 45 minute activity to enjoy. Activities included, Draw with Rob, board games, computing, musical instruments, dance, watch a Disney film and Disney colouring, sewing, baking and outdoor trim trail. Well done to all the children that received this full 45 minutes reward.

This will continue for Summer Term also.

World Book Day 2024

Children and staff throughout school made a marvellous effort for this year's World Book Day. Each class took time to discuss their costumes and / or their favourite books and characters.

 Pure Recycling Project in Rossington

Doncaster Council held a recycling workshop for KS2 children to promote pure recycling in Rossington.
The children were recycling champions as they correctly identified what can be recycled in our blue bins and green boxes. Their mission is to help parents and carers to correctly recycle items at home.

We received the following message from Doncaster Council's Waste and Recycling Team:

"The Waste & Recycling Engagement Team would like to say a big Thank You for allowing us into school to promote the Pure Recycling Project in the  Rossington Area.  It was a pleasure working with you all and we really appreciate you allowing us the time to promote this project."

Autumn 2023

Christmas Pantomime

The whole school thoroughly enjoyed this year's pantomime, Snow White.

There were lots of laughter, cheers, dancing, singing and booing!

Thank you to Friend's of St Joseph's for paying for this early Christmas treat.

Operation Christmas Child

Pastor Eric Simpson (church minister in Rossington) came to St Joseph's to support the charity Operation Christmas Child.

Operation Christmas Child's focus is children who have been affected by poverty and other forms of devastation. Shoe boxes are filled with small items which are greatly needed by children, and are then sent to very poor and war torn countries in the world. Quite probably a shoe-box will be the only thing they will receive for Christmas. The boxes are filed with the fun (small toys) and the practical (paper, felt tips, soap).

Children were able to choose the items, which had been bought by Pastor Eric, with a suggested contribution of £1. The children at St Joseph's physically picked up an item and put it into a shoe box that will literally be opened by a child in the designated country.

Thank you to all who donated and contributed to Operation Christmas Child.

Year 6 visit to St Michael’s Church Cenotaph for Remembrance Day

Year 6, along with other members of the local community, participated in a service of remembrance for all lives lost to conflict and war. They listened to prayers, readings and poetry and took part in a 2 minute silence as The Last Post was played.
