Fruits of the Holy Spirit

Year 5

Novena for Pentacost

As part of the Novena of prayer for primary age pupils created by Sister Susan Richert, the children in Year 5 were able to create prayers about the gifts and fruits of the Holy Spirit. They were able to make links between the gifts that are given, and how the fruits of these can be seen in our actions. We decorated our door in class with the prayers the children have written.

Lent 2021

Reception

During our Lent topic we have been learning about growing. To explore this further the children planted cress seeds in compost and watched how they grew over the week. The children were fascinated with how quickly they grew from seeds to cress.

Year 1

Year one wrote their Lenten promises on candles. During reflection time each day, they considered how they could achieve this promise, or what they could continue to do during the Lenten period to be closer to God.

Year 4

Lent Reflection

Year 5

During Lent, the Year 5 children had regular reflections in class, and they listened to many stories from the Bible. The children were able to reflect on this, and they regularly used a ‘Journey through Lent’ calendar to consider what positive things they had been able to do during this period. We had a whole class liturgy at the end of this, going through the Holy Week story and reflecting on this.
