Advent 2021

Lent 2021

Y5 Lenten Liturgy - Spring 2021

For their Lent Liturgy, Year 5 had the privilege of retelling the story of Jesus entering into Jerusalem. Through acting, dance and reflective prayer Year 5 did an excellent job of getting the important message across to their audience.

Y5 Advent Liturgy - Autumn 2020

Year 5 began their liturgy by lighting the second candle of Advent (the candle of peace). The second candle is lit to remind us that peace is like a light shining in a dark place. When Jesus came he taught people the importance of being peace-makers. He said that those who make peace shall be called the children of God. The second candle is also a symbol for the Shepherds who were chosen by God to proclaim the birth of Jesus.

Year 5 had the very important task of recounting how God chose the Shepherds to bear witness to the birth of the Messiah. They also wanted to get the message across to their audience that God could have chosen well known religious figures or important people of the time, yet He chose the lowly Shepherd (the everyday man) to proclaim the birth of his Son.

Through drama, song, liturgical dancing and prayer Year 5 retold the story of one of the most stunning events found in the entire Bible.
