Year 1 and Reception had a wonderful time with Sean Gaffney, the Invictus Games athlete. We had to try different exercises and we were cheering each other along. We then listened to an assembly about how motivated, resilient and determined Sean has been and continues to be.

Pupil take over day - Summer 2022

What a great day learning new skills and facts for Teacher takeover Day! We started our morning with sessions on Doncaster Rovers football, space, swimming and dancing. We continued our learning in the afternoon with martial arts, dinosaur facts and information about caring for our environment. We ended our day learning all about horse riding.
Well done year 1!

Austerfield Study Centre - Summer term (1) 2022

Year 1 had a fantastic time Den building at Austerfield as part of our ‘survival skills’ session. We learnt that we need fire, water and shelter to help us survive. Therefore, we built shelters out of sticks and broken branches. Our challenge was to ensure our whole team (of ten children) could fit inside it.

 #Take10 minutes to read challenge - 11h October 2021

Did you know reading for just 10 minutes per day can improve your mental health.

Year 1 recently took part in the #Take10 minutes to read challenge, we watched a live video from the author Tom Percival, who read some of his new book to us. We then read two of Tom’s books that we have in our classroom. ‘Ruby’s worry’ is our favourite! As a result of our wellbeing lessons, we now know what to do when we have a worry, so we were giving Ruby some advice whilst reading this book.
